NXP i.MX 6SoloX Processor on COM Form factor efus™ by F&S Elektronik Systeme

At the beginning of 2014, F&S Elektronik Systeme introduced its new form factor efus™ (easy – functional – universal – small).
In contrary to the Qseven standard, which uses the same plug connector, efus™ was designed consequently for ARM processors. It also allows a base board with four layers only.

The NXP i.MX 6SoloX Processor with Arm® Cortex®-A9 and Cortex®-M4 cores of efus™A9X offers many acceleration functions (OpenGL) for fluid display images, enabling animations like on your smartphone or tablet.

efus™A9X is compatible to efus™A9 and offers up to 1 GB RAM, 1 GB SLC NAND Flash and 32 GB eMMC. Available interfaces are 2x Gigabit-Ethernet, 2x USB Host/Device, 2x CAN, 2x I²C, 2x SPI, 4x UART, GPIOs, 2x SD-Card, I2S or AC97 for Audio, PCIe, as well as analog and digital camera.

Displays can be connected via digital RGB and LVDS (up to WXGA). A resistive as well as a capacitive touch controller can be connected via the I²C interface. A WLAN/ Bluetooth module with chip antenna or antenna socket can be placed optionally.
F&S Elektronik Systeme has performed a radio examination (with chip antenna), involving only little effort for the final radio approval in the user’s system. Power supply is 5V, the power consumption is 2W (typ.).

efus™A9X will be available for at least 10 years. Another highlight is the favorable price from Euro 39,- (depending on features and quantity, plus tax).

efus™A9X is available with the operating systems Windows Embedded Compact 7, Windows Embedded Compact 2013, Linux (3.14.38). Under Linux one can use either Buildroot or Yocto for their development.

The F&S Elektronik Systeme software department has ported all of these operating systems on efus™A9X and the F&S engineers are always there for support.
