The Linux BSP (multiplatform-linux-f+s-V2.0) contains the customized Linux Kernel Source Code (v3.3.7), the customized U-Boot Source Code (2012.07) and a customized Buildroot (2012.08), as well as our Cross-Toolchain. The package also holds our standard binaries of the Linux Kernel Images, U-Boot and a UBIFS Root Filesystem. For a first impression, the Root Filesystem based on Buildroot has the following features installed:

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3/ Compact 7

WCE 6.0 R3 or WEC 7 offers bootloader, interface drivers and kernels (with e.g. Silverlight, Mediaplayer or IE). The interface drivers for almost every offered interface are disposable (access code is shipped with the starterkit). Hard work with platform builder can be cut out, we already did that job for you. Apply your Windows knowledge by creating your software with Visual Studio .NET (not included in the starterkit) in in the languages C, C++, C# or VB.NET. Use interfaces like I²C in the same way like a RS232 interface, without having to handle the hardware. Configure the display and other settings with the F&S configuration tool.

Our FailSafe Flash File System F3S is also available for WCE 6.0 and Compact 7.

Description Description

High Performance

Many applications in the industrial and medical area demand for a high-performance module to control displays, to connect controlling elements (touch panel, key panel, incremental encoder,...) and to communicate via modern interfaces (Ethernet, USB, CAN, ...). The NetDCU product family meets these conditions since more than 10 years.

Simple Base Board

A special feature of this product family is the possibility to use a simple base board. NetDCU14 is compatible to all previous NetDCUs and can be used easily as an upgrade for NetDCU9/10/11.

NetDCU14 is based on a Cortex-A8 CPU with 1GHz. The module offers up to 512Mbyte DRAM, and 128Mbyte NAND Flash are sufficient to boot a complete WCE or Linux directly from Flash. The system can be set up with an additional SD-Card.

 

Various Interfaces

It also offers interfaces like USB Host/Device, 2x LAN, RS232, CAN, SPI, I²C, Audio (IN/OUT/MIC). The pincompatible version (to NetDCU9/10/11) offers a display interface with RGB signals, so displays up to XGA can be controlled. Furthermore, a version with LVDS interface (max. resolution up to WXGA) is available. Additionally, an interface to connect a touch panel ( resistive) is offered, as well as the possibility to connect a capacitve touch panel via I²C.

Multimedia CPU

The CPU also holds functions like 2D/3D, 5 Window-Layer, FPU, MPEG4/ H264 decoder up to 1080p@30fps, so many multimedia applications can be realised. At a power supply of 5V, power consumption is less than 4W, so NetDCU14 can be operated without a fan or cooling device.
