Buildroot
The Linux BSP (fsvybrid V2.2) contains the customized Linux Kernel Source Code (v3.0.15), the customized U-Boot Source Code (2014.07) and a customized Buildroot (2016.05), as well as our Cross-Toolchain. The package also holds our standard binaries of the Linux Kernel Images, U-Boot and a UBIFS Root Filesystem. For a first impression, the Root Filesystem based on Buildroot has the following features installed:
Busybox 1.20.x, gdb 6.8, alsa-utils, gstreamer, madplay, directFB, fbv, X.Org rel-7.5, Matchbox, feh, X11vnc, openssl, openssh, freetype, glib2, tslib, libv4l, ncurses, can-utils, iproute2, ftpd, httpd, telnet, tftp
The BSP also contains our First-Step documentation and example applications.

Windows Embedded Compact 2013
As the very first company we can offer WEC 2013 for Vybrid processors.
The highly flexible and hard real-time operating system has kernel, interface drivers and bootloader. It benefits from all the features of a modern CPU, such as ARMv7 THUMB2 command structure or NEON co-processor.
Complete images and the BSP are available in our download area.
Development is done with the latest Microsoft tools like Visual Studio 2015 (C, C++, C# or VB.NET) and Expression Blend 5.
Interfaces like I²C, CAN or SPI can be used in the same way like a RS232 interface.
XAML for Windows Embedded helps to separate visualisation and program the easy way.
Our FailSafe Flash File System F3S is also available in Compact 2013.
Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3
Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 offers bootloaders, interface drivers and kernels (with e.g. Silverlight or IE).
The interface drivers of almost every offered interface are already ready to use.
Your software can be created with Visual Studio .NET in the languages C, C++, C# or VB.NET.
Interfaces like I²C can be used in the same manner like a RS232 interface, without having to handle the underlying hardware.
Display and other settings are arranged with the F&S configuration tool.

PicoCOMA5 extends the existing PicoCOM family with a pin compatible, powerful and also inexpensive module. For Industry and MedicineAs all other PicoCOMs, the PicoCOMA5 has a size of only 40mm x 50mm. This makes it a perfect solution for hand-held products with TFT display in industrial (-20°C - +85°C is available) and medical devices. High efficiancy with the Cortex-A5 & Cortex-M4 CPUsThe PicoCOMA5 runs on a high-performance NXP Dual-Core Vybrid CPU - Cortex™-A5 with 400 (500)MHz and Cortex™-M4 with 133 (167)MHz. The module can offer a large number of interfaces: Ethernet, 3x Serial, USB 2.0 Host, USB 2.0 Device, I²C, SPI, CAN 2.0, I/ O, Audio (Line IN/ OUT), SD-Card and touch panel. Alternatively there is a PicoCOMA5 version with 2x Ethernet (no Audio). An important point in development was to offer many standardized interfaces, all supported by the available OS. Therefore the user can realize his communication jobs in software without in-depth knowledge of hardware. |
Of course, PicoCOMA5 offers a flexible display interface to connect most of the TFTs from QVGA (320x240) up to SVGA (800x600). Asymmetric MultiprocessingThe Dual-Core CPU (Asymmetric Multiprocessing) by NXP builds the ideal basis for PicoCOMA5. The industrial-suited and long-time available (10 years and more) Vybrid CPU owns two cores (Cortex™-A5 - 500MHz and Cortex™-M4 - 167MHz). It supplies the user with the processor performance of a 32Bit CPU as well as with the comfort and the functions of Windows or Linux, while it has a price which is usual for 8/ 16Bit μP systems. PicoCOMA5 can be equipped with up to 512Mbyte DRAM and with up to 1GByte Flash, but 128Mbyte NAND Flash are already enough to boot a complete Windows or Linux directly from Flash. Easy UpgradeThe system is supplied with 3.3V (< 3 Watt). It is plugged on the customer's carrier board with a robust 80 pin connector. Customers only need to add the necessary driver components for their requested interfaces. The usage of the module is therefore very easy. All PicoCOM boards are largely compatible, using the same robust 80 pin connector, which makes upgrades to successors a simple matter. |
