F&S and IBV announce their strategic partnership

F&S Elektronik Systeme GmbH in Stuttgart and IBV Echtzeit- und Embedded GmbH & Co. KG in
Augsburg are pleased to announce their strategic partnership.

Aim is the perfect support for medical customers and other industries, who know the advantages in
the field of real-time operating systems, including QNX and others. SIL (EN 61508) certification
relevant topics, which are applied in the DIN EN 13485 environment, can be fulfilled as well and
simplify the whole certification process.
The first F&S Computer on Module (COM) to support the operating system QNX 6.5.0 SP1 is the
Qseven module QBlissA9, based on Freescale i.MX6.

In cooperation with our customers we have already started to prepare topics, which will guarantee
multicore support in the future. Meaning in detail that high-performance processors will have
smaller co-processors embedded in the wafer, which will relieve the main processor (e.g. Freescale
Vybrid) from real-time relevant tasks.

Both companies, F&S and IBV, will introduce possible approaches in no fixed order and present them
within the scope of short technical articles about reference projects.
