High-Performance Multimedia Single Board Computer
with NXP i.MX 8M Plus CPU from F&S Elektronik Systeme GmbH

The i.MX 8M Plus multimedia CPU from NXP (4x ARM® Cortex®-A53 (64 bit) with 1.8GHz & Cortex®-M7 CPU) is ideally suited for applications with demanding graphics in building automation as well as in industrial and medical technology.
With Linux on the Cortex®-A53 cores and FreeRTOS on the Cortex®-M7 core, NXP continues its heterogeneous concept and thus also offers an ideal option for real-time processing.
For graphics processing, the CPU offers 3D HW acceleration, OpenGL ES2.1/ 3.0/ 3.1 as well as video playback (h.265). A special feature is the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for Machine Learning with 2.3 TOPS.
F&S Elektronik Systeme (manufacturer of embedded boards for more than 20 years, based in Stuttgart) has put this powerful CPU on the new armStone™MX8MP single board computer.
(PicoITX format).
Up to 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and up to 64GB eMMC, as well as USB3.0, Audio IN/OUT/MIC, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, mPCIe (SIM slot), MIPI CSI, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and SDIO (uSD slot) are available.
2x LVDS (up to FullHD), MIPI.DSI and also DVI are available as display interfaces.
A resistive or PCAP touch panel is connected via I2C.
Another option is an on-board WLAN/BT module (pre-certified) with antenna socket.
As with all armStone™ single board computers, many of the signals are on common connectors or on the 66-pin feature bus. The power supply of the armStone™MX8MP is 5V (an attachable 12/24V adapter is offered as an accessory), and the power consumption is only a few watts. With a temperature range of up to -20°C - +70°C, the armStone™MX8MP can also be used outdoors.
Linux (Yocto) is available as an operating system. This has already been ported by the experienced software team at F&S Elektronik Systeme.
Bootloader, device tree, adapted interface drivers and all tools necessary for development are available.
Various security functions as well as OTA (Over The Air Update) are available.
With the F&S project guarantee, F&S Elektronik Systeme accompanies customers from the start of the project to its successful completion. This includes a starter kit and workshop, documentation for hardware and software development and free support from the experienced engineers at F&S Elektronik Systeme GmbH.

The armStone™MX8MP will remain available until at least 2035.
