Yocto Release Y2024.09
For the CPU NXP i.MX93 F&S offers a Yocto based environment. We offer the Linux BSP fsimx93-Y2024.09-pre, which is based on Yocto.
Our standard configuration, which is intended to give a first impression of the functionality of the board, includes the following features: Busybox, gdb, alsa-utils, gstreamer, fbv, matchbox, feh, openssl, openssh, ncurses, can-utils, iproute2, ftpd, httpd, telnet, tftp, and many more.
The BSP is based on the following source code packages:
- U-Boot: 2024.04
- Linux-Kernel: 6.6.48
- Yocto: 5.0.3 Scarthgap
Also included is our cross toolchain, some sample applications, and all binaries in the default configuration.
F&S offer a virtual machine (based on VirtualBox) with an installed Linux based on the distribution Fedora 36 for free download. All packages necessary to compile our software are already installed. Also, all services (NFS, TFTP) for working with our boards are installed. Our BSP is unpacked and precompiled in the correct directories. With this virtual machine it doesn't matter if you use Windows or Linux as host. Simply download the VHD, import it into VirtualBox and development can begin immediately.

The SDT.05 standardization group was founded at SGET with the aim of defining a standard for a direct soldering module. The founding members were IESY GmbH, F&S Elektronik Systeme GmbH and Kontron AG. The advantages of an OSM module are the machine assembly, a lot of performance and functions in a small space. The cost and risk of using plugs are eliminated. Our OSM module in size S is ideally suited for NXP's i.MX 91 application processors. The i.MX91 CPU is a slimmed-down i.MX93 CPU. The number of industrial interfaces is identical for both. in contrast to the i.MX93, the i.MX91 only has a Corftex-A55 core, does not have an L3 cache and the Cortex-M33 is not available. The display unit also only supports RGB displays without PXP. This makes the i.MX91 very similar to the i.MX6ULL. NXP has not skimped on security That means the EdgeLock® Secure Enclave ntroduced with the i.MX8ULP is also present in the i.MX91.

The OSM module from F&S, using the iMX 91, utilizes the same PCB as the OSM with iMX93, making it 100% pin compatible The only difference is the absence of the MIPI-DSI or LVDS interface. The signals for the RGB interface are only accessible via other I/O functions. ➜ more informationen about NXPs i.MX 91 NF&S Electronics also offers the development and production of a suitable baseboard in addition to the OSM module, and then delivers the complete unit soldered, tested, and optionally with customer-installed software, so that only unpacking, installation, and powering on are required. The operating system adapted for the OSM modules is Linux Linux Yocto supports all interfaces, ensuring straightforward software development without extensive hardware knowledge EntwicklungsboardWe offer a ready-to-use OSM starter kit with OSM modules, baseboard, cables, and access to documentation and software for an easy entry into development The software includes the Board Support Package. The offer is rounded off by a wide range of software services, workshops and free support via the forum, email and telephone. |
